anybody ,, somebody ,, HELP!!!!(NTDLR IS MISSING

okay guys ,,this one is bad ,, really bad one ,i really need ur help asap
okay i have 100 gig HD ( 2 parrtation 80 and 10 for the os )that runing on 466 mhz on zp pro OS ,,ok? .. my frind bought a new pc and he gaveme his old one 1000mhz 256 ram .agp card , modem , etc.... so i decided to move my 100 gig hd to the new mother board and cpu , and i did and i started to install win xp pro ,, i insert the xp cd ,, it formated the the 10 parattion into ntfs and it start copying files then it counted to 15 and it restarted and after it try to load the OS ,, IT SAYS ,, NTDLR IS MISSING ,NOW i try to fdisk from 98 disk and i try fdisk /mbr . i try to change the memory sticks , i even took the network and modem and agp cards out i changed the ide cable/ slots ..i chaned the xp cd copy , i changed the cd drive ,and i resinatalled ..,i try almost every thing ,, now i know that the mobo and cpu are good couz my frind used it and it was ok but he upgraded , thats why he give it up ,, anyway ,, i took the hard disk and move it back to the 466mhz and i try to reinstall windows ,IT WORKS ,,so i know its not the harddisk( i even ran the WD disk for diagnost ,, is there any thing on the bios setup that couzs this thing ,,
help me solve this ,, plz ,, thank u,,,
i had to add this couz i read in other post for a guy who the same problem and he got his mobo and cpu from a chinese guy who have win xp pro chinese ver ,, and the guy i took it from is chainse and used to have a chinese win xp

A little confused with all the run-ons. But anyhow, does everything work now that you have re-installed?

If you come across an error that NTLDR is Missing while installing XP, don't go ahead to stick in win98 to do a 'fdisk /mbr', especially when you have formatted your 10gig partition to NTFS already. That will just ruin everything and the only hope you will have is just to re-install.

no ,, it wont let me install win xp still ,.,.. no matter what i do it keep saying ntldr is missing,

Boot up with the XP CD. Go into Recovery Console. type this:

copy e:\i386\ntldr c:\

where e = your CDROM drive.

reboot afterwards

after thinking on this for a while I think the best thing you can do is to clean the hard drive and reinstall everthing.

do you have partition magic so you can just reomve the partition that xp is on and start over ?

i couldnt format i have a50 gig of data that i need BUT ,,for 12 hours of trying every thing ,, IT WORKS!!!!!how? its hard to know why but when i first downloaded the life gurd disk from western digital i try to setup the harddisk ,, but that didnt help , but i gave it another shot after i made too much changes that i couldnt keep track off ,, the disk works this time and i was abel to resume installin XP pro ,,, i really really thank everybodys effort to help in this ,, THANX ALOT

Thats a good learning experience.

If this happens to you 3 times you by then will remember what you did and it will surly take only seconds to fix the next time.

trial and error is second to only knowledge.
