Startup Problem, Please HELP!!!!!!
I have a gateway computer (not sure of all the specs) running windows NT and when I turn the computer on it gives me this error.
DHCP MAC ADDR: 00 90 27 3E 04 76 PXE-E57: No boot filename received from BINL, DHCP, OR BOOTP. PXE-MOF: Exiting LANDesk (R) Service Agent II Operating system not found. Please someone help me out and let me know what I need to do, I need this computer up and running and I have never encountered this problem before. |

The "newer" or "better" LAN cards allow the computer too boot up from the LAN if there is a server on the network set up for it. It's one alternative to booting from CDROM, floppy disk, and hard drive. You will just have to turn this feature off on your LAN card. But in most situations, the LAN is supposed to look for boot first, and if it doesn't find anything it moves on, rather than just freeze.

It is running on a server. How do I turn that feature off on my LAN card? I cannot even get into windows NT.
All I know is I have to have this computer up and running before 1pm today and I am pulling my hair out. My LANDesk Service Agent II is the fifth boot device, if that helps. |

If your LAN is your 5th boot device and you have an OS installed, then you have issues. Is your OS installed correctly? Boot with the ethernet unplugged.

I booted with the cable unplugged and still nothing, although it did give me another error. I think I do have issues, well not me, but my computer and the crappy thing is, its a computer on a network here at work and it needs to be fixed so one of my operators can use it this afternoon. I guess I am SOL unless someone can help me.
