XP Pro DevMgr showing Dual CPU
I see Dual CPU's in the DevMgr of my Win XP Pro. My system is running good but just curious as to why and should I fix it. My bios shows 1 CPU installed. Here is my configuration.P4P800 Dlx P4 2.6 CPU Win XP Pro Should I try to fix or just leave it alone?? |

You might try your fav app with and without hyperthreading, it may be faster without. Do this by disabling ht in bios.

I doubt you will see any difference by disabling the Hyperthreading feature. I've played with it and didn't see any improvement.

Just remember that some older games will not run if hyperthreading is enabled.
If you run into that problem just disable it when you play those games. |
