Installing XP
My sister has a brand new "legal' copy of Win xp she wants to load onto her new PC. However, she already had XP loaded when she purchased it. As far as I know it is working perfectly well. She is concerned because she never got the CD with her purchase.
Her question is, how can she get rid of the old one and install her new copy. I told her to insert the disc and the software will guide her through it. Is it this simple? I told her I would have an answer soon, so if someone can help it would be appreciated.

I have to ask. Why does she want to install a new copy of XP if the old one is working? Is this a store bought PC with a Restore disk?

Did that PC come with a restore disk ?
Because if it did all the drivers she needs may be on that disk and getting the machine up and running with the new XP disk could be a major hassle. |
