Microsoft Word Problem
All of a sudden I am having trouble opening any of my microsoft word files. A message flashes that says The File [name of file] is not available." I can use Word and I can save things but it will not let me open anything!! When I try to close word - it tells me that "The file Normal already exists. Do I want to replace the existing file." I have to save it or it does not let me close out of Word. Help!!

andyms18a is correct...95% of Word problems can be solved by finding and deleting all instances of "normal.dot."
The reason uninstalling and reinstalling Word (in case you were thinking of trying that) won't fix normal.dot problems is that normal.dot is not installed when Word is installed. It's created the first time Word is started. |
