internet disconnecting

For some reason my internet connection stops working... I have an integrated 3com NIC (model number is 3C2000 I think) and windows xp, and I've installed updated drivers. At first I thought it would happen randomly, but I'm starting to think it occurs shortly after I start up any peer to peer file sharing client, I've tried it with Morpheus, and WinMX already and both seem to mess up the connection. The connection doesn't return when I close the program nor when I log off and back on, but as soon as I reboot my pc it works fine again. Is there some registry entries I can change to fix this or something?

Internet disconnects

I have had similar problems. My ISP suggested that is was about power management. i have not found where to tell XP not to turn off its conneciton with the internet through a NIC. I'dd appreciate help, too.
