System won't load Win 2000

Turned on the pc this morning and my boot loader did not give the option of which OS to load, it loaded Win XP.

Went to My Computer and the 2 other drives are present, checked in devise manager also. If I open up my D drive all files are there. Went into bio and tried boot there first but will only boot to XP. Then I disabled my I disabled all boot options except the drive I can't reach. When booting I get system failure insert system disk. What went wrong and how to fix.

Thanks

Did you make any changes to the boot.ini file?

Is "Display a list of operating systems" checked in the startup and recovery option when you right click on my computer and hit properties?

Yup, I ended up having to reinstall 2000 again. And like before after installing 2000 again I had to reinstall XP, because 2000 became the first boot option instead of XP like it originally was and when choosing to load XP all I would get is a message saying there was a error and 2000 wound not load when in fact XP is the one I choose to load. 2000 loaded fine.

I remember someone saying it is better to load the old os first then the new, well that is one that I will have to say is not entirely true, because this has happened to me twice.
