upgrading from win98 to xp

i,m thinking of upgrading from win98 to winXP,imy computer is a intel pentium3 450mhz,with 128mb sdram,i will probably upgrade the memory to 512 mb,will it run ok or is a pentium3 450mhx too old and slow?many thanks.

Personally, I think XP will run quite slow on your system. Optimizing 98se might be a better idea.

One thing to keep in mind with 98se. MS announced that as of July '03, they discontinued "support". That means no more updates or fixes to the OS itself. Things like IE6, Direct X9, and Win. Media Player will continue to receive support and updates.
