Corrupt Registry in 2000
My 2 drives cdr and dvd/rom show up in hardware manager, but not in my computer. I tried reinstalling drivers and rebooting no good. A error show that the registry might be corrupt. I went and found that going back to last known config will not fix theor replace files. I tried it anyway and it did no good. So question is how to repair a corrupt registry.
Thanks PS a misshap made me do a reinstall again and the problem happened during the reinstall. So making a repair disk I believe would not be of any use. Is there a way to get the files from the CD itself.

Nope just in device manager. I tried 3 times with no luck on doing a repair where 2000 checks all files. It's something that a program is designed to do a certain task and fails to do it.
I did a reinstall instead. I even went to MS support knowledge base a found nothing to solve the problem. Thanks now it is runing again. I did wounder if Roxio had something to do with it, because it all started after installind ez cdc 5 with update. |
