Ram upgrade
I have an Acer Aspire 3210M, AMD K6 , 333mHz. It came with 32Meg ram & I originally tried to upgrade to 256 Meg with a single card not realizing that it needed to be done with two. It would recognize 256 but I don't think it ever used it properly. I just put in two 128 cards but it only sees one of them. When I go to System Info it only shows 128Meg. I've tryed to bring up the bios screen but it only flashes up and then continues to boot. I tried pulling and reseating and swapping the cards in the slots. Nothing is working. Help!

It could be that the max amount of ram is 128mb.

Sounds like you're using the wrong density RAM in that system. Or it could be the Aspire requires proprietary RAM instead of generic stuff.

Thanks to all for the responses & Red for the link. I'm supposed to have pc100 cards in this thing (my replacements were pc133. oops). I dug out my original 32meg card & put it back in. I guess I should've paid attention to the "pc100" written right on it. I think it works better now than it did w/256meg of the wrong mem. The 2 128s came from Circuit City & have to go back anyway so I'm going to see if they can beat Crucial's price first. Thanks again.
