removing incomplete downs

hi everyone
here is my problem i have incomplete music downloads in
my music folder and i cant delte them or remove them keep
getting message being used by another source
os system is winxp pro
download source win mx, i have remove win mx from my pc
but unable to remove or delete the incomplete songs
please help t

Try booting into safe mode and deleting the files from there.

Click F8 while the computer is loading to go into safe mode.

make sure that no one is uploading the songs from you. You should be able to go into the file directly through windows explorer or file manager to delete the incompletes. Another way to restart the incompletes, then right click and delete them that way. You shouldn't have to reload win mx.

Often going into Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Services and stopping the Indexing Service will let you delete those files. Just double click on "indexing" and click on the Stop button.
