cant maximize IE window
OS: win 2000
problem: Internet explorer screen will not completly fill the screen even if i attempt "move" via right click on titlebar. i want to have IE fill entire space between tool and task bars...and have it stay that way (when rebooting). tx Last edited by eshort; 11-25-2003 at 07:11 PM. |

If you're referring to the first IE window you open, right click on the icon you use, go to Properties, select "Maximized" from the "Run" drop down menu. Click OK.
If you're referring to secondary IE windows...opening link in new window...there is no fix, only a workaround: 1. Open IE, go to a page with links, open a link in a new window 2. DO NOT use the maximize button as this is a temporary setting IE will not remember 3. Grab the window at the edges and/or corners, stretch it to the size and position you want 4. Close the original IE window first - an important step and this won't work without it 5. Close the resized window IE should then open all secondary windows to the size and position of the one you closed in step 5. |

Yeah, Miz is right, the maximizer feature only works when you click on an IE icon like in the Quick Launch. Won't work when you click on a link somewhere. There is a shareware program called IE Maximizer but it maximizes everything like system folders and the recycle bin. I found it to be kind of a pain.
