I need help. I can't access the internet or many other things like My Computer, etc. I keep getting this message :"This module was compiled with a trial version of Delphi. The trial period has expired." Then the computer freezes. Any suggestions are appreciated.

I don't know who downloaded what but you may be facing a format and reinstall.
First try to get into safemode so you can uninstall the Delphi stuff. Since I don't know what comp you're running I can only tell you that F8 is the usual key you hold down at start up for XP. Check your manual for an OEM machine ( that means Dell, Compaq, etc. ). It would really help if you could tell us how, and what, Delphi thing you got on your machine. |

Delphi is a very powerful programing "environment" that is related to Paradox and is kinda like a super, super set of Pascal. It also is the producer of the "Borland Database Engine." It can write a very large base of different types of programs like relational database engines and Active-x controls and is very "online" and is very common for online forms and such.
If you don't have delphi installed doesn't mean you don't have certain components installed because of the widespread use and power of the program.... However.... I strongly recommend you do as pam123 suggests and run all your AV and spyware programs as it does sound like something has a hook into your system... HTH TwoRails |

Hello all,
Hope someone can help with this because my brother has just phoned me reporting the exact same problem so I searched on PCMECH to try and find some way of sorting it out. I built his and my computers at the exact same time and loaded all the same software - Windows XP, with zone alarm and PC Cillin programmes and mine is fine. I did suspect that it may have something to do with some kind of spyware or something but without being able to get into control panel or anything I can't get in there to try and delete any offending programmes, although we haven't tried it in safe mode so I will ring him now and see if this does anything. I am also going to take a look at his motherboard manual to see if there is anything to do with it that may be corrupting something else (although our PC's have the same make of motherboard and very similar components so I doubt this will be the problem because as I said my PC is perfectly fine). Hope someone can offer some more advice. Kaye |

I had ad aware. I have deleted the program but that hasn't solved the problem (unless I missed some files). I scanned my computer for viruses but didn't find any. What should I do?

I found a solution! It took forever to find an answer, but all you have to do is remove one file. This link explains it all.

Yes thanks suz135, that's fantastic.
I will try it on my brother's computer tonight (I'm in work at the mo!) and let you know how we get on. |
