Access denied to media file

All my txt, mp3, doc and files like that cannot be accessed on one of my hard drives. I can open programs but I can't copy them. I gave permissions to everyone and it still won't let me access these files. I put the drive on another computer and I can't access them there either. this drive has no os. Just storage for my music. (it's a recording comp) I can't figure out what is going on. If anybody has any suggestions other than format it would help out greatly. Thank you

No OS? Hmm, So you can't copy the files? Do you even have a media player on it?

It has an os on the other drive, I just need to have one on one channel and the other on the other channel. it's just the way recording comps need to be set up. but the other drive has windows xp. it's the weirdest thing. the drive with the problem has to files installed. it's just storage for txt, imgs and wav files. I have a back up copy of the recording program on there to. I can install the recording program but I can't copy the files or anything. I can't really format because there are things I need for my clients. It's driving me mad. but it's thanksgiving so I'm going to go eat some turkey and watch some football. H ave fun you guys.
