Xp Over Xp
I stayed with 98se till all my cronies now are using xp. since i haven't paid that much attention i would like to know if XP can be installed over itself. i understand that a crash is inevitable if you just put the xp hard drive from one computer into another. what is a way of doing that in order to retain programs and files already installed?
alan EDIT ! the original drive with XP is from a computer with a dead motherboard and processor. can anything be done? Last edited by tacoeater; 11-29-2003 at 03:37 AM. |

Boot from the XP CD, proceed to the installation, then when prompted, do a repair installation.
