Copying a file
I am attempting to back up some of my files on to a CD before I reinstall Windows XP Home. However, I clicked copy a half an hour ago to start copying the 500 MB file to the CD drive where it will then be copied to a CD. It still says "preparing to copy". I have never seen anything take this long to copy! Did it really make that much difference when I took one 256 MB DIMM out to stop all of the errors and restarts?

It did freeze after 45 minutes. I had to turn off the power. I don't have all day to do this. Maybe I'll try copying it to my other computer. Would that go any faster?
