Hi,
I've been reading the install questions here and have not come up with an answer to my question. I'm going to install XP on a friends PC, he is getting the upgrade, but I will be doing a fresh install not a upgrade. I know I can fdisk the hard drive and wipe it clean and use his 98 disk as proof to upgrade, however can I boot up with the XP CD and have it do a fresh install with 98 still on it? In other words will it wipe the off the old 98 stuff when it formats and do a fresh install or will I have to do that ahead of time? Just trying to save a couple of steps. TIA

no need to do all that as the xp cd will do all that for you at the install menues, and do a fresh clean install of xp
