re-initialize usb bus??
Hello all.
I need a little help. I hibernate my computer frequently and, after the computer resumes i do not have access to all of my usb devices. I know this is a known problem with windows and I am accepting it. I can "fix" the problem by unplugging the usb devices and re-inserting the plug. It re-initilizes the USB bus, and all it good until the next hibernation. It would be fantastic if there was some way I could run a command from a shortcut, batch file, etc. that would effectivly do the same thing as unplugging and re-inserting the usb plug to regain the usb devices that do not survive the hibernation. Any help on this matter is GREATLY appreciated! TIA! Surf |

Any particular reason why you hibernate your PC? This is not the only problem with hibernation, so I have always simply disabled it so as not to have to deal with the issues.

Well, For me it's perfect. I stop where i'm at, I don't have to save anything, close anything, etc. I stop what i'm doing and choose hibernate from the shutdown menu. It transfers RAM memory to the hard drive and powers down completely. Then when it comes time to restart it just transfers the data back to physical ram, and viola.. Im back exactly where I was, in the middle of that document, surfing the web, etc. It works great for me. I do not have to put up with the startup prochedure, and my computer resumes in about 10 seconds start to finish. I Just don't get all USB to come back alive out of hibernation. Surely i can mimic the plugging of the cables somehow, with some type of command to re-initilize the USB bus.
Thanks, surf |
