win98se shutdown problem...
A friend of mine who is running 98se is having the problem where when shutting down it gives him the screen saying " It is safe to turn off your computer". How do i get it to shut down automatically?

Check that power management is enabled in the bios.

Is it an ATX case/PSU? If it's an AT, he will have to manually push the off button

If the power management is set correctly, try rebooting in safe-mode (hold F8 at startup). Let it get up to the desktop, and then choose restart.

Rebel is right, if the computer is an older one, check to see if it has an AT power supply...That is the way it was designed to do.

its not AT. I will have him check the bios and see if he can find anything in there.
