Windows XP not loading VGA drivers.

XP is not loading my VGA drivers when I start up. This is a fresh upgrade with a new 200 GB hard drive. Drivers are all up to date and all of the windows updates are installed. System boots but without the video drivers. Device manager shows this device cannot start. I downloaded the signed driver from windows update to no avail. I try to reinstall the drivers and XP will not load them. The vid card is a GeForce 5600 Ultra on a PIII intel based BX series mobo. Please help.

Thank you for the suggestions. I have identified and corrected the problem. It appears to have been in the bios.
The OS was not loading/starting the device because the resources were limited. I disabled the on-board serial ports(2 using IRQ's 3 and 4) and the parallel printer port (using IRQ 7, using a USB connection anyway). And perhaps the one item that I had overlooked, set the bios to assign an IRQ to
VGA adapter. It is now operating as designed.

Thanks again.
