Cant Right Click

Hey Everybody,

Running WINDOWS 2000 Pro Service Pack 4, AMD Athlon XP 1800+, SB LIVE, 80GB IBM HD ATA 100, Linksys NIC, Nvidia GForce Ti4200 128MB, MSI mobo with VIA KT333 chipset.

The system ran fine for a few days now. All of a sudden, I lot the ability to right click on my desktop. When I try to run Add/Remove Programs, an error will come up saying " Cannot run this command", I cant even open up my computer, cant even do ctr+alt+del. Sometimes I am able to open up my computer, but I do not see any drives. Before this happened, I have scanned for spyware, removed all spyware, no viruses found.

in the background, I am running AIM and Winamp besides the 2K services.

Anybody know what could be going on?

Weird..just toying with it and shutting down AIM and restarting AIM, everything works fine now..I don't know what caused it..but sometimes this happens once in a while.

Does a Repair installation of Windows 2000 do the samething as installing Windows on top of itself?
How would I go about Reinstalling windows 2000 without losing all of my files? I am not familiar with this, because I dont know how to install windows 2000 over itself, because from what I read, a repair installation does that.
TIA
