Exclamation HELP winxp pro not reading cd drive

i got some problem here, whenever i boot up my winxp pro, my cd drive doesnt appear in my computer. then i go to add hardware wizard after it searches it says its working correctly and the drive appears in my computer!

is there anyway to just make it appear right from the start?

Unable to see cd-drive

I had this on Win XP Pro. I went into the BIOS and enabled OS PnP Compliant

erm sori the fix at dougknox didnt work going to try victorparobij's method
