What is this javaw.exe?Do i need it
Hi there...I have been having problems with my computer which seems to be stalling/shutting down occasionally. When I checked the task manager on the processes running I found that one particular program (javaw.exe) seems to be taking large percentage of the CPU...what does this program do, and most importantly do i need it? If not, how do I get rid of it? What is Java anyway? can anyone explain in layman terms? Thanks in advance

heard of prog called Lime wire, supposed to kinda like Kazaa? Well when I closed thaat prog. the javaw.exe disappeared from my applications running (end process's). Also know of any other detrimental' applications it loads?
Is it because that lime wire s/w needs it? Would this be any problem to my PC, ie. is it adware type s.ware? regards Last edited by kbaasit; 12-04-2003 at 10:05 AM. |

Lime Wire is a legit file sharing program and I note that the site makes a point of "NO spyware ever...".
That being said you're having trouble with it so another program like WinMX might be better for you. |
