Administrator (me) cant login to my pc
Administrator (thats me) cant login to my pc because all the login names' passwords are incorrect, or atleast the pc thinks they are. Is there a way to reset them from the login screen cause i cant get into windows, its in WinXP and a few days before everything worked swell. Is it fixable through safe mode???

Since system restore is not without its pitfalls, if you can logon in Safe Mode using the main Administrator acccount, just go into Control Panel>User accounts and change all the passwords. Write them down as you change them.
Then each user can enter that password to access their account and change it to whatever they want. |

your best option is to contact microsoft tec support as the bios battery trick only works for bios password. if you are using a ntfs file system then it very hard to get back in to xp if the passwords are wrong and to give out the info on this web site may be against the site rules as it may be classed as hacking

You could try installing a parallel system and access the original system and either recover the data you need or delete the SAM file from C:\WINNT\system32\config and then reboot to the original system.
An easier way is to slave the drive you can`t log onto to another NT system and delete the SAM file and reboot. |
