Single XP user
Ive only ever had the default single user account for my XP pc, and so when I switched on the pc it loaded all the way to the desktop.
For some reason now its making me click to log in at the welcome screen - but with only one user theres no real need any help apreicated

Go to the Control Panel, then Users and Passwords. There should be a checkbox that controls whether you must login.

Download TweakUI. It should allow you to automatically logon:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/p.../powertoys.asp It also has a bunch of other settings for Windows. |

If you don't want to use TweakUI (or if it doesn't work, which sometimes it hasn't for me), do this:
1. Go to Start>Run, type in "control userpasswords2" (without the quotes, with the space after "control") 2. In the window that appears, uncheck the box for "Users must enter a username and password..." 3. Click on the account you want it to boot into automatically to select it 4. Click OK and in the window that pops up, either enter the password or, if there is no password, leave it blank, click OK That should do it. |
