I lost a DLL file in \windows\system32
Windows XP pro can't load up anymore.
I would like to copy that missing DLL file from one PC to another PC. Can anyone tell me, how can I go to Dos prompt? Do I need a XP boot disk? |

Make a DOS boot floppy (lots of them available at bootkisk.com) and copy the dll file to it. Boot with the floppy, which should be able to access your hard drive as long as it's formatted using FAT32 and not NTFS file system, which DOS can't read. Then copy the file with the DOS command: copy (name).dll C:\\windows\system32\(name).dll .

Or you could just boot of the Xp cd and choose the repair option and run the recovery console.
