Those are not Windows files ( I believe). I think it is a virus/trojan. I would download " Spybot" or " Trojan Hunter "and see if you have something. Spybot is free and Trojan Hunter is a 15 day trial ( free). I don't have the links right here, so do a search on Google. Good Luck
EDIT: here is the Spybot link:

EDIT:
Here is Trojan Hunter:

Good Luck

msinfo.exe is definitely a valid MS app - it was the W3.1 equiv of System Info, and there are probably later versions.

msinfo32.exe is the app for sytem information in XP

It's likely that you have a trojan or browser hijacker.

Do you get redirected when using IE?

Cool web , scroll down to the MSINFO sections, there are 2 that show msinfo.exe and info.exe errors cause by this.

You can download a fix for cwshredder and run it just to make sure.
CWShredder

Hi Chris.

I think in ME the file is msinfo32, not msinfo. The hijacker I have seen puts " msinfo.exe " in the same location as the proper " msinfo32" .. then redirects the browser activity.
