Well actually its not a serious problem but each time i boot up my computer,I receive a message: "Invalid BOOT.INI,booting from C:\windows\".This message appear after my system reboot(a fatal error) by a program and ran windows ran scandisk automatically. Then it tells me that the Boot.INI was truncated..what did it means?
How can I prevent the message from display again? |

run mscongig and look at the boot.ini file
see if it looks strange. or you could do a restore point to a date that it was working. |

Unable to do sys restore coz I've turn it off to save some disk space...
I've run msconfig and selected normal startup.Where did WindowsXp load the Boot.INI file from during startup if not from the C:\windows directory? |

When I try to shutdown or restart windows it cannot end the process of WUPDATER.EXE thus I need to end it manually. What could have gone wrong here?

I don't think there is a boot.ini file unless more than one operating system is installed. Post your boot.ini file here if you have one (i don't know if your saying yours is messed up or missing all together).
run -> services.msc and stop wupdater.exe from running on startup (if it's running as a service) by changing fro automatic to disabled. But before you do that what did you install that runs wupdate.exe? search your system and look what folder it's in before you remove it.

Well I've search the Wupdater file and found out it's under "C:\program files\Common files"directory.Isn't it a Windows Updater program?
And no I don't have other OS installed...but i do have installed PartitionMagic8 pro. |

Have you installed or used PM's bootloader? That may be causing a problem.
To see the boot.ini file, right-click on "My Computer," select Properties...Advanced...Startup and Recovery, and then you can edit boot.ini. |
