Installing Win 98SE so disk is not required later.
I remember seeing a thread a while back discussing the installation of windows from the hard drive so that in the future you do not have to insert the Window CD when making changes (add/remove programs, ect.).
Can't seem to find it that thread though..... |

Copy the CAB files to a directory.... I usually put them in C:\WINDOWS\OPTIONS\CABS and run the install from the hard drive. Take note tho, if you install the files in a WINDOWS subdirectory, the installation will want to default to C:\WINDOWS.000, name it back to C:\WINDOWS to avoid confusion.

I think all you have to do is copy all the *.cab files from the W98 CD to a suitably-named new folder on the HDD, and then when you make changes and Windows asks for the CD, you take the 'Browse' option and point to that folder.
