dual boot 98se after xp
I really need some help. I had a working dual boot going with win 98 on c: (fat32) and win xp on d: (ntfs). Due to a corrupted driver I had to reinstall windows 98 again back on c: This of course over wrote the boot sector for xp...How can I re-establish this. These are two different partitions not physical drives. I have tried several suggestions from this site and others. Cannot make it happen. Does anyone have a tried and tested, relatively fool proff way to do this?
Please help!! |

What have you tried, so we don't waste your time by suggesting things over and over?

Well...I have tried booting with the xp pro disk and doing a fixboot using the read.scr file which was once suggested. I have tried moving the ntldr and ntdetect.com folders into the c: root directory and then doing a fix boot...not sure if I know exactly what to do step for step....when it says do a repair install is that from windows 98 with the xp disk or do I go to the repair console with the xp cd booting up?
