I have partition my harddisk into 2 partitions. When i boot up winxp pro, my hard disk drive letter are C: and e: while my CD-rom is D: . How do I set my CD-rom drive letter to E: so that my hard disk are C: and D: ?

Right-click on My Computer, select Manage, and then Disk Management. From there you can change drive letters.

Data paths to items on what is now E: may not work after renaming the drives. Another way to do it is with Partition Magic which has Drive Mapping as a feature. Drive Mapping will reassign all the proper file paths after the drives are renamed.
