hi, if the win98 registry file system dat became corrupt, what effect might it have when the pc was next booted

With any luck, Scanreg will detect the corruption at bootime and revert to the previous registry.
Why do you think it is corrupted? |

hopefully its not corrupted but would happen if it was would the pc still run or would scanreg kick in or would windows fail to load, its just a question that someone asked me and i thought someone would help with the answer

As I said in the first post, scanreg should detect it and revert to a previous one.
It all depends on what exactly is corrupted. If it is structural then scanreg should find it. If it is a key that has gotten mangled somehow, then scanreg will probably not care, but Windows or some other app may, and then fail. |

In answer to your question Juany, The computer would probably not boot into windows.
