RE loading XP on top of old XP
I'm full of-em tonight, and since no question is TO stupid:
Can you load XP (pro) on top of an already working XP without losing data? I know I have done it before with 98 and if I remember correctly, it every now and then fixed a problem. If that didnt make any sense: I have XP on another partition but it is so buggered that it cant be repaired (at least by me). I was gonna try to re-install xp with out formating and with hopes of keeping all the junk I have saved. Is this possible? Impossible? Improbable? Only an idiot would try? Thanks in advance B |

I really expected a "NO" for an answer. I know about the Recovery Console, but not enough to use it. Thanks a lot for the reply's. |

You will have to reload SP1 and any critical updates that you want.
