a small little problem

please help because sometimes when i start up the pc it will have chkdsk (i think it is check disk) for no reason, does anyone know why, its not because of improper shut down. please help me

i have win 2000 and i shut down by clicking on shut down then i check if i selected shut down and click ok

Have you tried running an AV scan?

Do you let the test complete or do you stop it? If you keep stopping it it'll keep coming back until it finishes the scan.

What service pack do you have?

Have you tried running adaware or spybot?

i don't have a service pack and i don't plan on downloading one. i never ran any adaware or spybot
