How do I get rid of this

Ok, this has been on my computer for a while now, and I havent been able to get it off. Im assuming it came from some program i downloaded, since I download a ton of programs to try, and end up deleting them 5 minutes later. Ive run ad-aware and virus scans, and have wiped all my history and stuff clean, but i still can get rid of it. (BTW, check to picture to see what im talking about)

Anyone got any suggestions?

Try using spybot...

if that doesnt catch it...try doing a full harddrive search including hidden files and folders
anything that comes up....follow the path in address bar to see if you can route out the problem that way.

Run spybot yet? If you have run ad-ware there is nothing more I can suggest you to do. Did you download anything? Some screen saver or some free ware? Try looking there

One of my nephews got something similar on my sisters machine. Ran Spybot, Ad-Aware, Trojan Remover and a few more. Finally had to just reformat.
D@#% porn sites. He claimed he got it from some files he d/l, but the temporary internet file folder was full of porn.
Good luck getting rid of it.

I am sorry, this is kinda funny, but I realize its serious too. On one hand you want to watch porn and you have a right to, but you dont want others to know you watched it. Then there is these crap prorgrams that may fool you into letting install them.

Whats your situaiton? is that your computer or someone elses?

Make sure you know how to delete all traces of you hav

Watching porn? This is a new work computer. I have not even connected it to the internet yet. I picked it up Friday from the people who built it. They thought I wanted NT on it...I don't. It pissed me off they installed an OS on the computer that I did not want. Additionally, I am not stupid enough to surf the porn sites on a work computer...especially on a network where everywhere I have been, can be recorded. If I want to surf the porn sites I do that from my home computer...which admittedly I have...I bet half of you who have looked at the porn sites would never admit it. I have the balls though to admit it. I'm just not stupid enough to do it at work...unlike some others.

I think I found how to repartition the hard drive.

http://pages.yahoo.com/nhrp?o=rudy50...hnical_support

They say I need a boot disk. Is a boot disk the same as my XP CD rom? The CD did boot XP earlier from my CD drive.. And I have partitioned my hard drive in the past for a personaly owned computer (yes..I did spend 200 bucks for a LEGAL copy)

Also, how do I get into DOS?...the explanation makes no sense.

David M, you don't need to boot into dos, boot to the XP cd it can partition and format for you.

Thanks Roger...my XP CD though does not give me the option to reformat the hard drive first.

You will need to delete the previous partition, then create a new one and xp will automatically format it.

i'm not sure i understand your statement about reformat first, the xp-cd will format the drive just go into bios set first boot cdr and save, insert disk and it will format and install.you don't need to format first,if i understand your post correctly.

Raftero, I think the situation here is that he needs to reformat and install XP because NT was installed, which he doesn't want. What you do is in the boot process, you will be asked if you want to delete your existing partition, and you do that by pressing 'd', then confirming. The disc will then go on to partition the drive, then on to installing the OS.

Here is a link for more info on the install process, if you need it. I assume it is XP Pro because it is a work machine.

Hope that helps.
