I am using Xp. I have tried the power options and set the monitor to turn off at 10 minutes. The monitor does not shut down. I tried 5 minute, also the same. I have uninstalled some 3rd party desktop theme. Everything is ok. Anyone know how to fix this? At the moment, I unplug the power cord to the monitor.

It is better to leave the monitor on if you'll be using the computer again within a few hours. Like TV sets, constantly turning them off and on can shorten their lives.
That said, if you can't even turn it off manually with its power button, then I suspect it's defective. If it's still under warranty, see if whoever you bought it from honors their warranty. |

The monitor doesn't shut down so you unplug it? Do you mean the front button doesn't respond when pushed?

Its ok already-for some weird reason its ok. There is no on/off switch on the monitor. I unplug the cable behind the monitor (power supply) which goes to the psu. I uplug it when I'm going to sleep. Thanks anyway
