Commit Charge

In the XP Task Manager, when you go to the performance tab, it says in the bottom right "Commit Charge 143M/923M".

What does this mean? Also the 143/922 is for my computer.

Here's what this website has to say:

"The commit charge section (of the Performance tab on Task Manager) gives details on virtual memory usage: total is equal to MEM usage in the box above i.e. the amount of virtualk memory in use, limit is the maximum amount available for paging, and peak is the highest amount that has been in use since Task Manager was started."

Commit Charge (Total) This is size of virtual memory currently in use by all processes, in kilobytes.
Commit Charge (Peak) The maximum amount of virtual memory, in kilobytes, used in the session. This can give an indication of whether the memory had reached a saturation point.
Commit Charge (Total) Sum of paged and non-paged memory

1st number is generally "total" which is what is in use, and second is "peak" which is what's available.

1st number is current virtual memory size.
2nd num is largest virtual memory can ever be (it's limit).
3rd is the largest amount of virtual memory you have ever used .
