please help

sometimes when i start up the computer and gets to the password input part and the keyboard and the mouse will freeze, then i have to press reset then that usually solves the problem but sometimes i have to press reset more them once to get the keyboard and mouse not freezing anymore. can any one help me please. i have win.2000

Hi did you install Logitech mouse drivers? if yes then unistall them. Boot to safe mode - into control panel and remove the mouse drivers. then restart and have win2k find the mouse..
This should help if not then you might have to tell what kind of mouse you have - if you use a usb mouse on a older ASUS board (cusl-2 or like wise ) you need to shut down the legacy mouse to disabled in the bios..

i just have a regular 2 button ps/2 mouse on a asus P4SGL-MX its a chinese model so u probably need to go to the globel site of asus not north america

have you tried another mouse yet. it's the drivers - believe me.. there is also in Microsoft Knowledge base article on this - might you search the microsoft knowledge base

You can try to operate without the mouse or as I wrote above - use SAFE MODE - and look if it still hangs.
