Mouse cursor flickers
Hello all
My Dads mouse cursor arrow flickers non stop when placed on the desktop. When used in word or when writing mail it is OK. Any suggestions?? This has been happening for a couple of months now and all he can tell me is that it happened around the same time as the desktop icons got a black background for the word description ( i. e. My Computer would be over a black background) Thanks Last edited by TPM; 12-21-2003 at 06:51 PM. |

a few quick guesses -
1) run an antivirus scan 2) remove all mice from Device Manager in Safe Mode and let Windows re-detect the mouse on reboot. 3) check in Device Manager to see if the driver looks right for the graphic adapter (video card). If it says "Standard VGA", try uninstalling/reinstalling the video card drivers. Obviously, something happened to change the display settings, and that something wasn't a good thing. Did the system suffer a power surge, a problematic install of new software/hardware, a quirky visit to WindowsUpdate? ...or? .... Best of luck . . . Gary and happy holidays, too |
