Computer Just Restarts With Message
My friend's computer is an EMachine. Best Buy couldn't fix anything, but they said there was a virus. I tried formating the hard drive, but couldn't find the administrative password, so instead I just installed XP again over top the other version. The computer was fine for about half and hour then got an error about the thread tried doing something to something it didn't own, and it restarted. Think there is still a virus, or something else?

Download F-Prot for DOS and run it from a Floppy to search for virus infections
Start the computer with a bootdisk and at the A: Prompt insert the first F-Prot Floppy and type F_Prot.exe/loaddef http://www.f-prot.com/download/download_fpdos.html Last edited by morriswindgate; 12-21-2003 at 10:39 PM. |
