Question no *complete* boot with 98SE

I have a win98SE laptop with novell netware client and NAV corp. ed. 7.1, which is kept up to date regularly. I am able to start it up and login, but all that loads are MDM, the novell client exe, and two mysterious entries "imlua" and "lucomserver".

I'm thinking virus(s). Any suggestions? I couldn't find anything in symatec's database about it.

Could possibly be:
Lightweight User Authentication module (IMLUA)

It's used on domains and/or networks & workstations and generally isused with an app called Web Inspector.

probably not related to the incomplete boot.
