Foldin' For PCMech!

i just got a computer from a friend, it was running windows 98 and i want to wipe the drive and put windows 2000 on it. i tried a few times, but everytime i endup with another OS on the computer. i only want 1, i want the entire drive wiped clean and Win2000 put on it, how do i do this??

Use a bootdisk (from www.bootdisk.com) with format and fdisk on it and wipe the drive before install.

Just insert the Windows 2000 CD, boot from it, start the setup, somewhere at the beginning you'll be able to set up the partitions you like. Just remove the existing ones, create new partitions (preferrably with the NTFS file system), format them and install Win2K. That's it, and you don't even need a bootdisk because Win2K has it all integrated in its setup
