Improperly Uninstalled Programs Are Still Being Called Before Windows Starts
I uninstalled Carbon Copy and PC Anywhere. Both couldn't be unistalled properly. Now, when I start up my computer, I get 4 error messages about files not being found. How do I get rid of those errors?

That program is cool, but the errors happen before Windows starts. That program doesn't check for those.

Hi there again ,
Just install it and mark the ones you don't want to see - and those ones will be gone.. Unless you would like to edit the registry manually is this the one and only secure alternative -.. there are other programs but none of them as easy.. BTW - Under Windows 9x and also Win-NT the registry starts to load as soon you see Starting Windows... and there it is where it comes from - the overlefts Hpro |

What OS are you running ? fi Win95 then the entry might be in System.ini or Win.ini if Win98 you can also use MSCONFIG as well from the Run Command line.
To edit System.ini make sure that you make a backup copy first then at the Run Command line from within Windows type SYSEDIT and OK or enter - find the offending line - it would be in the 386 section and then place a SEMI COLON in front of that offending line Example of SEMI COLON ( ; ) If you have Win98 -ME MSconfig and just use unmark it from start... Hpro You also need to take a look at config.sys and autoexec.bat but those two files wouldn't give you a missing file error.. |
