FX-51 and Windows
Does anybody have an exact release date or a site where I can download the beta I've heard so much about, or do I have to waste 100$ to buy XP then 64-bit again

Sumdumgi, that appears to only be for the Itanium, Intel's 64-bit chip.
I don't think an actual 64-bit Windows OS is going to be out until late 2004, or early 2005. Don't quote me on that though. |

After reading the page again, I also thought that may be the case, but then I checked out the Technical Overview for Windows 64-bit and this is what I found out

I cant believe that Billy would design an os even a beta or alpha that wouldnt work with AMD. Thanks for looking into it though.

You would think that would be the case. I'm sure they will accomodate the AMD 64-bit CPU's later on.

Not a 64-bit Microsoft Windows OS compatible with the AMD 64-bit CPU's. You can use Windows XP, but it will not be able to take advantage of you 64-bit capabilities.

If you really want a 64-bit OS, you can try to look for a 64-bit Linux Distrobution. Maybe start by checking out these links from our Alternative OS Forum. If you can't find anything in there, I suggest giving Google a try.
