Update number to Microsoft (0x800A138F)

Windows Update Error HELP!!!!

what do I do I cannot do my XP updates I get the following msg:

Windows Update has encountered an error and cannot display the requested page.

Select from any of the following pages for information about Windows Update services, or send us your feedback.

Send error number to Microsoft (0x800A138F)

i dont knoe if that has anything to do with it....but is it a legal copy of windows???? ive heard if its an elegal microsoft can tell as soon as u do the updates....

help to re-activate

well as far as the version of XP Pro on the PC now... it is pirated! (I bought the PC like that) Newaz, I have purchased XP Pro and want to intall it.. know how to do that?

Without re-installing everything and so it will read my Key, the one that I paid the $$ for.

well u cant talk to about the pirated one anymore...against the rules here....

but back up all ur important files on disks.....put in the new windows..it will format the drive...ask u to partiton it...then it will go on and install the new windows...

there has to bre a way that I can install the s/ware key without refromating etc....

is your version of XP, licensed as in you purchased it?... Mine wasn't some guy I bought this PC from thought he was being 'slick' by selling it w/ XP Pro on it....

Enuff to say I went out and bought my own license and CD. Now all I have to do is figure out how to register it w/out having to re-install everything!

call ms and they can fix it for you to make it leagle, or do a format and a clean install

click start, all programs, accessories, system tools, actevate windows, and the wizard will give you the option to change the cd key

that won't work , he has to call ms
his installed version of xp will not have the activation option to do that.
I would strongly recommed that you clean everything off your hard drive and install the new version of xp that you purchesed.
any more discussion on this matter will surly get this thread closed
