I have an nt 4 server on a Compaq machine and have the following problem.
If I leave the machine idle after a while it freezes and the mouse wont move,then the machine is unusable. If I press the power switch in and touch the keyboard it unfreezes. I thought it could be the hard drive turning off but I am unable to find the power settings. Any ides anyone? |

First check if there are IRQ problems. If not, disable all powermanagement in the bios, and see if the problem remains.
but you are dealing with a compaq here, so good luck (you will need it) |

Could also be a bad power supply.
