abbreviations in office2k?

someone asked me today how you can make your own abbreviations for typing in word 2k/xp . I havent used office in quite a while myself but i seem to remember that it's possible. Can anyone here tell me how to do it?

Try tools, autocorrect options - make sure replace text as you type is checked & add the abbreviation in the first (replace) box & the word(s) in the second (with) box.

Send a message via Yahoo to pillainp
Autotext: Simply type the words you want, select them and then press ALT+F3 and click on OK. The next time you type the first few letters of that phrase/word, a pop-up box will appear displaying the phrase. Press enter now and Word will automatically fill in the rest of the phrase/word

Thanks for the help . its for someone who is secretary and they're switching to office 2k or xp in a while, and this is quite a handy "speed up tool " in her line of work.
