i am having problems with how to reformat my pc... hope u can help

i am currently running windowsXP home and i want to reformat my computer, but i do not know how can u help?
btw when i restart my comp with the windows cd inside it does not boot from the cd it just loads up windows as usual.

sum info:
WindowsXP Home
Intel Pentium 4 2.00GHz

reboot computer and hit F10 (i think) to go into BIOS. Change bootup menu so that CD-ROM is first and reboot. Should then boot up from CD.

BTW, why do you want to reformat?

You sure you want to reformat? You can try to clean it up. If you don't mind losing your files and settings then I guess you could reformat.

i just backed everything up and i could just reinstall my programs

allright then...sounds like you should be ok. If you are going to go ahead with the reformat, when it asks what partition you want to install on, delete any partitions already there, format the drive and install on the new partition.
