Hi From Texas !
I can not get into the safe mode on start up using F 8 key. It has been this way for a long time.I have not needed to get into the safe mode , but I might have to in the future. I have held down the key, I have tried tapping the key about two times a secomd. I have tried to get in at different parts of my start up..-------------------Don |

What O/S are you running?
[edit]: Just noticed that this was in the 2k/XP forum. When you get to the point in the boot process where you get the black 2k/XP loading screen where there is a bar down at the bottom. That is where you should press the F8 key. If you hit the color 2k/XP loading screen, you missed it.

Hi force_flow2002
Yes, I have XP. When I turn on the computer , the Hewlett Packard blue screen comes on. Then the black XP screen, then a a dark screen with my arrow showing only, then it shows all User Accounts for the people to click on their personal account, then the wall paper and Icons on the desk top, task bar etc... I have tapped down the F 8 key at each point in all. I have left nothing out. I even tried holding down the key all the way threw the start up. I will try again on Friday-------------Don |
