reformat and reinstall- how do i do this

I am running windows 2000.
I want to erase everything on my hard drive and then reinstall windows 2000 so that my computer is like new again.
I have my windows 2000 cd.

you should be able to set the boot device to be the cdrom drive and then boot from the cd, from there you can do what ever you want, just follow the onscreen instructions

I tried to boot from the cd and I followed the instructions. But when windows started all my old files were still on my computer. It didnt delete anything. It just installed afresh copy of win2000 i think.
